At Bridal Alchemy we create one‑of‑a‑kind wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses for brides across Jukskei Park, Randburg and greater Gauteng. Since 2009 our owner‑operated studio has specialised in custom wedding dress design, bridesmaids gowns and mother‑of‑the‑bride attire. Every garment is hand‑crafted in our private atelier to reflect your personality, style and budget.

Our studio was founded by Lizette, a designer with over 20 years of experience in fashion and bridal couture. She leads a small, passionate team of seamstresses and pattern makers who understand how to flatter every figure. We believe that every bride deserves a dress that fits perfectly—physically and emotionally—so we take time to listen, sketch, refine and bring your vision to life. Our dresses are made in Johannesburg using premium fabrics sourced locally and internationally, and we’re committed to ethical, slow fashion that results in less waste and immaculate craftsmanship.

Custom Bridal Gowns

We design and make bespoke bridal gowns to order. From sleek satin sheaths to dramatic ball gowns with lace appliqué or 3D floral details, your gown will be tailored to your exact measurements and style preferences.

Bridesmaids Dresses

Choose from our online sample range or commission custom bridesmaids dresses in colours and styles that complement your wedding theme. Standard Infinity wrap dresses, A‑line chiffon gowns, off‑shoulder styles and more are available.

Mother of the Bride/Groom Dresses

We design sophisticated dresses for mothers of the bride or groom that balance elegance and comfort.

Matric Farewell and Special‑Occasion Dresses

For matric farewells and special events, we create show‑stopping dresses that fit beautifully and showcase your personality.

Alterations and Dress Cleaning

Weekday alteration consultations are available by appointment. Our alterations service is often used by brides who may have sourced their wedding dresses elsewhere. Our aim is to ensure that your gown fits you perfectly. We should add that brides who have purchased their wedding dresses from us are offered three free rounds of fine tuning alterations in the months and weeks leading up to their wedding day. We also offer professional cleaning and preservation of your wedding dress at an affordable fee.

How we work

Request an appointment – Use our online form or call us to book a private fitting at our Jukskei Park studio. We work by appointment only to give each client our full attention.

1. Initial consultation – During your 90‑minute consult, you’ll try on sample gowns to explore shapes and styles. Lizette will take measurements, discuss fabrics and create a digital sketch of your dream dress.

2. Design & quote – Within a day or two, we’ll email a detailed quote outlining design elements, fabric options and payment plan. We offer flexible payment options to accommodate your budget.

3. Fittings & creation – We produce your custom gown in stages, with three rounds of fittings included at no extra cost to fine‑tune the fit.

4. Final collection – On collection day, we make sure everything fits flawlessly so you feel confident and beautiful on your wedding day.

What to expect during your first consult?

Expect a warm, relaxed experience in our home‑based studio. We’ll guide you through silhouettes that flatter your body type, discuss trends (long sleeves, lace, velvet capes, 3D florals, blush tones and more), and inspire you with fabric swatches. Feel free to bring inspiration photos and family members—our studio accommodates up to five guests plus the bride.

What happens after your consult?

We normally take a day or two after your appointment to offer you a formal wedding dress quote. This will be emailed to you. Your quote will have a detailed breakdown of the payment options that we offer. This will include a deposit amount, followed with incremental payment options of the balance of your quote.

We’re proud of our transparent pricing. Each quote covers all design work, fabrics, labour and up to three alteration fittings. There are no surprise costs; if design changes require additional fabrics or embellishments, we’ll discuss them upfront.

Will you be surprised by any hidden costs?

No, you will not have to worry about any additional costs as it pertains to your wedding dress. It is very important to note that, prior to your final fit and collect, that we generally offer 3 rounds of fine tuning alterations on your wedding dress. We do this because we want your dress to fit you like a glove. You will not be charged for these alterations.
